Pumpkin Point

Pumpkin+Point

Looking for an activity to do this fall? There is an event called Pumpkin Point at Governors Island on October 22nd-23rd and 28th-29th. This event is free for people of all ages. It starts at 10am and ends at 5pm.

Govisland.com recommends coming early in the day to ensure the best pick of your liking and because of the large number of people coming to the event during the day.

Be sure to accommodate for extra time when boarding the ferry in either Manhattan or Brooklyn as there are multiple other stops to different areas on the way to the island.

Along with picking your pumpkin, there are other activities to do on this island. For example, there are various restaurants and food trucks that offer fall-themed dishes and beverages.

On the first day, there is pumpkin painting after the pumpkin picking which runs from 11 am to 4pm. There are also live music performances every day during Pumpkin Point.

WJPS junior, Alexa Llenas said, “I’m glad there’s an opportunity for the community to get together and have a fun time. I might be going since it is free.”
